Yesterday's vidding, frustrating as it was, seems to have unlocked something in my head. Early this morning I got out of bed because I suddenly knew how I could get the sound file for the prospective Firefly vid down from 5:08 to 4:30 (by splicing bits out of the short instrumental bits between verses in a particular pattern). And now I've been plotting mixes off and on all day in between real work - finishing up notes for some that I have to get done in the next week and a half, but also starting a pile of new ones with names like London Songs, All That Damage, Into Darkness, Pain & Catharsis #19, Last Kisses, Watch You Disappear, Before We Say Goodnight, Penguins Taught Me French, and The Porcupine Mix.
Whatever my brain's processing right now, it's clearly decided music's the way to do it. No complaints, mind you. It's a little unnerving when the gears start turning without me, but on the other hand it's nice to know everything still works.
