In unrelated news, why do most cafes in SF have such abominable chai? they must all get it from the same place. chai is supposed to be spiced with lovely fragrant spices like cardamom and anise and cinnamon and served sweetened, with milk. it is not supposed to be so spicy and gingery as to taste bitter and unpleasant, even with copious additions of milk and sugar. ew. carrot cake, however, appears to be quite good (whew).
