We all have things about ourselves we want to change or improve. For me it's my fitness, my neurosis, my musical talent, my recording skills, and my unemployment (I hate employment too, but even Bartolomeo Vanzetti had a job sometimes). What are they for you? I think that any day we don't do anything about the things we want to see change in ourselves is a day we might as well just off ourselves. It's a helpless sort of pathology that affected me for too long.

How do you feel when you know you want to be outside riding your bike getting fresh air in your lungs and instead you spend it inside watching television made by people who want nothing more than to appeal to your demographic with their programming so their advertisers can sell you shit?

We cripple ourselves. You know those cigarettes you're smoking are killing you. Why aren't you trying to quit? Do you not want to? Why not? THINK ABOUT IT.

We can obviously apply this to things outside of ourselves. I get sad every time I see a landscape dominated by 40-foot wide billboards advertising things that hurt or degrade people and things I love.

I promise to take positive, productive steps towards what I want for myself and the people I love every single day. I have no patience for people who know exactly what they want and for some senseless, masochistic reason, refuse to try and attain it.
