Whenever I'm in a terrible mood and things just aren't going my way, I peel an orange and eat it while I begin picking up the clutter in my room, uncovering artifacts I'd completely forgotten. When my room is neat and my head is clear, I ride my bicycle. I exercise my right to a full lane, trying hard to keep up with traffic, self-satisfiedly running red lights.
This is my ritual, my religion. It calms my nerves. I return to my room away from home and crack open a piece of radical literature and dream about the world before employment and money and racism and greed and progress.
