Sleepless in Singapore
Second last night - then another long absence. Every time I come back something about this place is different, and I resent each new alteration more than I did the last one (huge creature of habit here).
This time next year, lots of things will definitely be different, and while I'm trying very hard to psych myself into looking forward to all of it...well. In about 9 months academia will cast me adrift into the treacherous seas of Real Life, and that is such a depressing prospect that I don't really know how to begin describing how acutely I will feel the loss of my student status.
Meanwhile, though, in the weeks ahead there will be a new country/city to explore (yay!), new people to meet (yay, I guess) and eventually some form of studying to do (uhh...yeah).
I will definitely attempt to fill this space with my exciting American adventures as frequently as possible, insofar as my schedule allows. More often than the rate at which I've been updating recently, anyway.
