Back in the land of the living, I think.

Hokay. Man have I been away from this thing for a long time. Time for a rapid-fire life update! Go!

So I sort of petered out at the end of this semester... my last few projects and exams didn't go so well. But everything more or less ended up okay. Next semester I am taking Video Game Design, and may I say... woo! (I'm also taking another philosophy course. I hope it doesn't kill me.)

Backing up a bit... early in April, Hannah and I celebrated our one-year, which was pretty crazy-awesome. We're also both staying in Ann Arbor this summer, so we see a lot of each other. :-) Everything is *great*.

At the end of April, I moved out of my dorm room and into my first apartment ever. Well, sort of my first. I lived in an apartment in Florida last summer, but since a lot of the expenses and such were transparent to me (i.e. the money I paid was for housing, food, program fees, etc., and someone else did the shopping), it still felt sort of dorm-ish. This is the real deal; cooking my own meals (with Hannah's help... fun fun), moving all my stuff into my two corners of the place, living a real-ish sort of domestic-style life. I rather like it.

Also, I'm in way over my head this summer - with my job. I'm doing research with a professor (and a small research group) in the Computer Science department. For the tech-savvy among you (though I'm not sure offhand who that would be), the project involves exploring extensibility in file systems - allowing the execution of arbitrary code within the context of the file system while constraining its execution so that a buggy or malicious extension can't trash the file system. As long as I take it a day at a time, I don't think I'll freak out. I'm processing a lot of information in not a lot of time. I like it a lot, though. It's exciting. :-)

And now I am really tired. I get up at 7am these days.

G'night.
