So the stars were right in that I shouldn't cancel my party as two friends spoke up that their travel plans were different from originally expected and that they could make it after all.
Those crazy stars. Thinking they know the future or something.
The party itself turned out to be fun though the sing along part was a bit of a failure because I apparently know the only gay men on the face of existence that don't know every word to ABBA songs by default. Five people ended up showing up, though two were late (bad friends, no cookie. Though that's because they, you know, ate all the cookies) I made four dozen peanut butter cookies and a spiced raspberry pie and provided various cheeses, salami and bread along with much wine.
The next morning there was one sad little peanut butter cookie left and no pie. There was, however a fair amount of cheese and salami to insure foxes stay fat.
I think people had fun. I was regrettably grumpy at one friend after all the others left due to wine and my being stupid but other than that the evening was a success. I have since apologized so I suppose that's okay.
This upcoming weekend will be birthday round II at St. George Distillery as my roommate's birthday is on Saturday.
This week in work promises to be utterly insane to punish me for getting older, however, and there may be whimpering by Wed. I also have to go to the dmv on Friday to renew my ID and to hopefully have at least a little less horrid of a picture taken.
weekend,
birthday
