Fairies away, fetch me that flower...
Title apropos of nothing other than I have a snippet of song that has that lyric stuck in my head.
The weekend was acceptable. Though I am officially over summer and we can have fall back now, please? It was over 100 most of the weekend, I finally gave in and tacked up a dark sheet over my blinds in a pathetic attempt to keep my bedroom cool enough to live with (and incidentally proved that I'm right in the sun is NOT what keeps me from sleeping in most of the time...I was still waking up perilously close to oh god thirty even with having gone to sleep late the entire weekend)
Friday we had bunches of people over but I think everyone was wiped out from the weather as it turned out to be a fairly mellow evening although I still didn't manage to get to bed till 3am. Saturday there was video games and hiding in a cave from the day star. Then in the evening I lured a friend over and there was probably 5 hours of rockband. My voice was decidedly done when we stopped *grin*
Sunday was chores, breakfast out and more video games. It finally cooled off a bit so I wasn't melting but still, done with summer.
Last night I baked a zucchini that a coworker gave me, it was larger than my head. I ended up stuffing it with ground turkey, tomatoes, onions and garlic with some parmesan cheese and bread crumbs. The bread crumbs were a slight mistake as they soaked up the moisture from the zucchini and got a wee bit soggy but it was mostly a success given I'd never done such a thing before. I should have taken before and after pictures though as it was a very large zucchini.
Tonight shall be chicken jambalaya and supernatural, I suspect though it is also the release date for the much awaited book Rosemary and Rue by everyone's favorite Seanan McGuire. If amazon is on the ball with getting it to me (they usually are) I suspect it shall be a night of very little sleep.
And since it's the beginning of the month...

I was apparently a reading maniac this month
