There was apparently a British television series based on the book "Archer's Goon" by Diana Wynne Jones. Why did I not know this? And more importantly, why is not on dvd in a region that I can actually watch it? (It also seems to be out of print)

You could always invest in a region-free DVD player.

Or you could also check eBay or Amazon marketplace (or something similar) for region-free bootlegs.
