End/Start of year post
Happy New Calendar Year, all! I hope that everyones celebrations went well and that all those who perhaps over-indulged a little recovered in good time!
The looking back bit I probably should have done before now, but I have a wee poem that I actually wrote around the Pagan New Year but neglected to post. I think it still stands and I got to edit it a bit, so,
I've not been ill
So's those who have
Would draw comparrisson.
I've had some sickness of head,
Some illness of heart,
But such have been found cures for,
Either time or care
And I am lucky enough
To have sources of these
When it counts.
I've not been poor,
I've not been crunched
In any way, shape or form,
If I've run low on funds
I've been careless
And have no one to blame but myself.
I am learning care,
And am lucky enough
To have a job and still a little
Free over-draft.
And so if I look
Back, as if over one shoulder,
To put things in a better light,
It's been a good year, all told.
I like to think.
And though there may be regrets,
I am learning to care
And am lucky enough
To have my own will,
Love, health and liberty.
As for looking forward, well there are two player events coming up, we have a Zeitgeist to organise, not to mention school and the run up to SATS which, y'know, reflect on my Performance Managment this year... so ... no pressure ...
And we're seeing The Hoax tomorrow! With Jon Amor!!! Best way to end the holiday EVER!!
