Wow. Just, wow.
The evening show last night was something else. All the children were pretty hyper by the end of it, and there were still several screw-ups, but rather than being bunnies in headlights there was improvisation, and MJ got all the words to her song for the first time EVER and ... I had The Pride. So bad. They were just stunning.
Then I probably embarrassed myself by being hyper and having one pint go totally to my head!
But my head of phase gave me a hug, so it can't be all bad!
Today we had the Fun Day, where, instead of going out somewhere we at Templars do it ourselves. We made the best of the bad weather, with party games in the morning and the water slide just before lunch (yes, I did throw myself down it, as I was encouraged to do!) and then a bouncy castle, ice cream and sports in the afternoon.
It really gives a chance for these mini-adults to go back to being shrieking, soaking, silly kids for a day. No matter how cool they believe themselves to be or what horrors they escape from for the few hours they're with us every day, this is a truely levelled playing field.
And the rain held until after they'd all gone home.
All that remains is sports day and the limbo-esque day of final cleans, tidies and good byes.
And then there's Maelstrom.
Life is, I'm afraid, rather good this end!
