In which I appear in a story, a humorous pendant is accidentally created, and Lofty leaves us.
The sad news of the day is that my mouse, Lofty, has died. :( I found her this afternoon, and from her position it looked like she'd had a heart attack. She was quite elderly and had been going steadily downhill for a little while, so it was no great shock. Meanwhile, Jackrum, my only remaining mouse, is as lively and fat as ever. I often joke that she steals souls, because she's always been the dominant mouse and would pin the others down to groom them whether they liked it or not. So it looks like she's finally succeeded and has the cage all to herself now!
Also my bff Jen just texted me to say she's currently at the Spanish Riding School of Vienna, and hahahaha sucks to be me. :P We have a fairly curious definition of friendship, but it works for us.
And a cool thing that happened is that my friend Ian, an awesome guy who used to attend my writing group back in Cambridgeshire, has sold a story to an anthology. This is great but pretty standard for him as he's already a published author, except this story features the pub our group met in, and apparently it also has a cameo by ME! I'm in a story! XD The anthology isn't published yet, but you can be sure I'll be getting my grubby little mitts on it when it is. :P Ha.
Anyway.
Here are some pendants I've been working on. They're just in their backings for show at the moment, as I've run out of my super strong glue! But I wanted to show off my prettys (even though photos seem to leach all the colour out of them, for some inexplicable reason. Something to do with the glass?). Fun fact: the pin-up of Rita Hayworth (in the middle of the second row) is under beveled glass, aaand I should really have positioned the image further to the right because now, when you tilt the pendant ... her right boob grows. It's incredibly entertaining. I may market it as a special feature rather than a cock-up on my part.
