There was little in her life that Candy actually had to be grateful for, but the one thing above all others were her new friends on the community. The people had all become like a family to Candy, and whether they liked it or not she was a pretty permanent fixture in their lives. That's why whenever one was hurt or in danger she could do nothing

But that wasn't something she wanted to focus on right now. She just wanted to be here with them and blow off steam. It was just like she told Bruce; it was these moments together that would make even a dark future worth living.
With that in mind, Elektra flashed a winning smile at her younger companion as she prepared drinks. "You know when Owen finally gets in here we need to make a big deal out of it," she said jokingly. "We should have grabbed a welcome home banner at the store."

Still, it turned out that staying late was a good idea; he'd taken long enough to get home that, somehow, two lovely women had managed to break in and start making drinks. When he managed to open the door and enter, finding Elektra and Candy in his flat - he almost had a heart attack, though he hid it well. "Jesus," he muttered, raising a brow at them, "Don't you know not to break into a man's flat?"

Instead of answering Elektra Candy turned back to the drinks to finish pouring the last of the three, passing one to Elektra and holding another out for Owen. She then slipped her hand into her pocket and pulled out the lonely key on her keychain and flashed a grin.
"It's not breaking in if I have a key, just so you know. Welcome home!"

Elektra raised the drink and smiled brightly at Owen. Yes, she was going to make a big deal about him being here with or without the banner. "Welcome home!" Her voice lowered, clearly amused. "And it's just like she said. You gave her a key now you have to deal with the consequences of it. Like sitting here with us and drinking for example."

"Yeah, well." He shrugged, making a face, "If I'd known you'd be using it to pay me visits, I would've left a grocery list and my laundry for you."

"I did bring you alcohol, though," She added as she took a drink of her own glass. "So you really can't complain too much."

"You should be happy we came with gifts. Not everyone gets to come home to smiling faces and gifts." She settled down on the couch, sipping her drink casually.

"And anyway, I doubt you brought me the alcohol, Candy. I'm pretty sure Elektra's the only one of you who can actually purchase the stuff." And knew what to get, for that matter. He paused. "So then, why are we breaking into my flat now? Just for drinks?"

At least Owen was giving them a chance so far, though. Candy had almost expected some fighting and threats to throw them out of the apartment, neither of which had happened yet. So that was a good sign so far.
"And we're bringing drinks to your flat because we all need a break from life in general. Hanging out and having a normal conversation for once might actually help." She hoped.

"Look I don't know about you but, I'm getting sick of all of that." Naming the problem wouldn't help their cause so she glossed over it. Owen would know what she was talking about. "I want to enjoy the present. Right now I think all of our presents are pretty good. We are in a nice place with decent company and good drinks."

"But if you get that drunk," She continued before pausing to take another drink. "I'm not taking care of you. Just so you are aware," She smirked.

"I don't think either of us want a repeat but," Elektra glanced at Owen, green eyes flashing mischievously, "I wouldn't judge you if you wanted to give it a shot. We did have a good time hangover or not."

"Yeah, well, I don't need people taking care of me when I get that drunk," Owen replied to Candy, "I'm used to doing it on my own. And anyway, I don't think you'll quite be able to keep up with me." That was maybe to Elektra, too, but he was more sure that Candy was more of a lightweight than the other woman, and the last thing he needed was a drinking contest with Elektra. Knowing his luck, he'd get trounced.

"Do you have any music?" She offered as well. "Sorry, but I need a little something nice in the background to focus in on if you get too boring." It's only a light tease, really. If Owen did want to get serious she'd only listen to every word like they might be his last. A dark thought she didn't want to humor, though, so another drink it was.

"I know when I'm dealing with a master." She smiled playfully. "But, I'd take you on. It's the principle of the matter." Elektra took a sip of her drink. "That's a question. What kind of music would Owen have?"
