Here's a selection of interesting, funny, and worthwhile things for your perusal . . .

First, in honor of Valentine's Day (and princessrica):

And here are a couple of additional links.

Next, an interesting news item: A new Tyrannosaur ancestor has been discovered.

This is utterly hilarious: Smart Bitches Who Love Trashy Books.

And next, the most exciting news of all - IMO, the most exciting discovery (so far) of the 21st century*. Oh, screw that - the most exciting discovery of the new millennium:

A new tomb has been discovered in Egypt's Valley of the Kings - the first since the discovery of King Tut's tomb in 1922. As you might imagine, this has caused quite a stir in our household (my son being quite the young Egyptophile). So, last night we sat reading the articles, and looking at the few photos (I can't wait for more photos!), and getting very excited. There was lots of bouncing up and down and ooh-ing and ahh-ing and now he and I are both determined that we are going to take a trip to Egypt sometime in the not-too-distant future. (And while we're there, we'll go on a photo safari in Botswana or Kenya, too). It was a lot of fun to read about this awesome discovery - Connor was excited to see that Zahi Hawass was mentioned (Hawass, along with Joanne Fletcher, are Connor's favourite Egyptologists). And I had to laugh when I was reading one of the articles, and I saw a quote from someone names "Weeks." I'd missed the first name, so I was muttering the name while scanning back up the article to see who it was, and C said, "Oh, you mean Kent Weeks." (Yeah, he knows that guy, too, from watching Discovery Channel videos). :D Weeks, btw, is the one who made this fantastic discovery. Talk about the find of a lifetime, huh?

Scholarly fellow that he is, Connor decided to write his own "newspaper" about the discovery . . .

If that's not the best newspaper article EVER, I don't know what is! :D

But, just in case you're still curious and would like to read the few facts that C neglected to include, here are a few other articles. :D

*If they really have found a cure for AIDS, that would trump this in terms of importance. But the tomb discovery will still be massively cool. ;)
