So, I'm thinking of doing mini-reviews after watching episodes - more thoughts and first impressions, really...
Arrow: So It Begins
I understand why Oliver wouldn't tell his new team all his deep, dark secrets as he barely knows these kids. Every week, one or other of them screws up in some way - it was Evelyn's turn tonight, by turning off her earpiece and not alerting the others to Prometheus' presence.
Why should he have to bare his soul to these newbies, anyway? It took time for OTA to earn his trust, and rightly so. Sure, I can understand their side of it, having a mentor that holds stuff back and treats them like they're stuck at the kiddie-table must suck, but darnit, I much prefer Original Team Arrow. Begone, newbie team. Although rag-mag can stay. He's a sweetie! Why couldn't they have brought back Roy?! My lovable little parkour-man!
Detective Lance is simultaneously breaking my heart and making me want the thwap him up the side of the head, Gibbs style. Listen to Thea, Quentin! There no way he's Promethus - I'm not even attempting to buy it, show, so don't start!
Still undecided about Felicity's new beau. I like that Felicity is back to her old self, but I miss her adorable, sweet moments with Ollie - those two belong together. Why can't shows let happy couples be happy? Urgh!
I'm enjoying the Russian Bratva storyline - much, much better than last year's B plot. Anatoly is a hoot, and I like seeing Oliver merge into his season one self before our eyes.
That's it from me...
