Star Trek into Feelings

I went there. Sorry. I have a lot of Star Trek into Darkness feels. A lot of them. I’ve basically spewed them over the comments of two different livejournal entries on my friends page, so I figure I might as well collate them somewhat. It’s got to be a list, really. A disjointed list. With spoilers.

I really do get a bit overwhelmed with feels, but

The using Gaila to beat the Maru is from the deleted scenes - he tells her that he's going to tell her his feelings in an email, but she needs to read it a 3 exactly the next day. The email is actually a trojan to get the change in the program to let him win.

The scene makes her seem really dumb, and starfleet seem even dumber. Alothough it would probably have meant that they'd have kept the scene with her on the Enterprise where Kirk (badly) apologises for it, which is the only vague confirmation that she was assigned to the Enterprise and not just blown to pieces at Vulcan.

That's pretty much in the spirit of what I thought. Was the scene on the Enterprise the one where he apologises to the wrong Orion girl in a hilariously racist mix-up? So Gaila could still have been blown up at Vulcan. HMM.
