LIX Connichi, Go-Con, Potter-Con or whatever. And why is the rum gone? My five cents.

What a weekend! So many people, so much to see! So little sleep and nobody can remember the last meal he or she had. That's a convention as a helper. The t-shirts were yellow (I wanted green! Green!) and all the cosplayers looked far more interesting than us.

Yuki, the Japanese Go professional player, said that she'd have loved to dress up because everybody looked so amazing - and she only had this t-shirt. Yuki was so lovely. She even photographed my black and white fingernails and played Go with them. So cute!

The Go workshop was a very nice place to stay. We had tables and chairs and nowhere else you could find any. Many people sat down, we were at their side and said “Want to play Go?”. Then it was too late for them. Black and white stones, they have liberties and so on and so on. Funnily enough, 90% of the people I talked to knew the rules already. No absolute beginners, nobody who's never heard about the game. That was sad, really. Two years ago, I felt like revealing secrets and miracles on the board but this year? “I know how to hold the stones. And I know what this and that are." However, it was fun to play. People on a convention are always open for fun. When I told them after playing sometime that we’d have a tournament on Sunday, they'd already written down their name on the participant's list.

All helpers were fun to be with. I've know Christoph and Gunnar for three years now (Christoph taught me the basics in Go after all), Antonia as well and I've met Frank at different Go tournaments so far, too. Oh! Lisa has even been to Braunschweig last December and she told me back then that she learned to play go during a BishonenCon. You can guess that we had a lot to laugh about together. New faces: Imke and Annica.

Together with these two, Billie and I slept in the youth hostel. And here comes the impossible: in four different rooms… The organisation people said, “Sorry about that, we had to split you,” and we answered, “Oh well”. We went to the youth hostel around 3am Friday night and looked forward to waking up about 20 people. Ha-ha. The guy who opened me the door of room # 208 was the only person in a room with four beds. So, why did they split us? Never mind. After all, we had about eight hours of sleep in three days. Whoo!

More people I met: Katy (so cute in her costume), Lea (even cuter, if possible), Kashi (so cool!) and Hannah. Hannah! We played Go several times (and were photographed several times by Christoph who'd been definitely trying to photograph every con visitor at least 10000 times…), talked, laughed and hugged each other. Thank you so much for being there, honey. You made me feel calm and relaxed there, in between so many people and so much stress and everything. After you left Saturday evening, I sat down in a corner with my little Con-Tief (con depression) and wrote in my diary. It went away very soon.

Saturday evening, we had a spontaneous Potter meeting in the entrance hall which nearly turned me into a Harry/Draco shipper. Nearly. Wow. I'd met a lot of Hogwarts students until then (among others the Prongs I was so ecstatic about) but the Harry there took the biscuit, honestly. With all the Slytherins he looked so astonishing suffering that I had to fight the urge to kiss Draco who tried to choke him. Rrawrrr. A Sirius and Remus were also there, but you couldn't identify them without each other or their Marauder's Map. They were cute, though. S/R!angstysoveryangsty but cute. ♥

Oh, before I end it here, I have to tell you about the best Snape cosplay ever. I was playing Go with Hannah, when something black with a broomstick up his back hurried past our table. In the spur of moment I got up and screamed “Professor, Professor Snape!” and he turned around. The way he turned around... He pointed his wand towards me and all I could stutter was, “Could I take a picture, please? Sir?” Oh wow. It was quite funny to talk to him (he made the costume himself) and while he talked to Billie, I even caught him smiling which he realised immediately. “Did I smile?!” And he looked oh so stern again. Oh well. I’m blushing. I never realised it in school, but I guess I have a thing for strict teachers or something...

Anyway. I had a blast last weekend, as expected. The workshop was fun, people were fun and the Connichi 2006 won't take place without me! :-)

First of all, a poster in front of the baker's. Let me draw your attention to the Deppenapostroph. Well, without it it would sound like we'd have fans on the rolls but anyway, very cute.

Pictures taken especially for schattenstern # 1: some Final Fantasy people in front of the bakery. (Sephiroth's sword was huge. After I had taken this picture, a guy came out of the bakery, grabbed it and held it to my neck. No, I have no idea why. Guys and their thing for long swords...)

Pictures taken especially for schattenstern # 2: Reno, isn't it?

Pictures taken especially for schattenstern # 3: Again, Reno? I wasn't sure but he looked a lot like him. ^^;

Pictures taken especially for schattenstern # 4: This cool looking guy from Prince of Tennis whose name I forgot. But he, well, she looked cool, yeah.

Akabane, Ban (Ginji: "Baaaan-chaaaan!") and Ginji from "Get Backers". I first met the girls on the left in the sales-room and they promised to come to the Go workshop as soon as they found a Ginji. Yay!

The enemies Akabane and Ginji.

Ban and Ginji. I tell you, the Ban's contacts were blue and I had nice dreams thanks to his Evil Eye. *g*

Meike as Akari from "Hikaru no Go"! *cheers*

End of anime pictures here: you sure all know this gentleman, don't you? This guy even walked like Captain Jack Sparrow. (Billie has a better picture of him, though.)

And we start with Rawenclaw: Cho Chang.

Luno Lovegood, the first. With the Quibbler (which had the program of the convention inside *g*).

Her earrings! :D If you think about it Luna is the most fun character to cosplay from Harry Potter. So many things to make her look weirder and weirder. ♥

Luna, the second. Look at her tights! And she wore two different eye-shadows! In addition, she carried the sixth Harry Potter book upside down with her. *g*

Molly Weasley! She carried a huge bag with chocolate, safety pins, plasters and I don't what else in it. So cool!

Oh, angsty Sirius/Remus.

They looked angsty all the time but they were incredibly good at it. ;-)

Awwwwwwww.

Hahahaha! XD~ We made fun of the third movie in which Remus confessed his undying love for Lily to his James' son. These are Sirius, not pleased at all, Remus and Lily looking oh so innocent. Possible conversation:

Lily: "I like Remus, he's not as loud and dumb as James!"
Sirius: "I don't care. Give. Him. Back. NOW!"
Remus: "I want to cuddle, but Sirius always wants sex! I can cuddle with Lily."

Sirius: "NOW!!!"
Remus: *cuddles some more*
Lily: "Hehe."

Severus Snape on the left, Sirius Black on the right.

Who won? I have no idea.

A group picture, not of all but of many Harry Potter cosplayers.

Best Harry ever! And OMG, isn't Draco hot?!

Billie and I spent about fifteen minutes wondering if it's a he or a she.

But then a Hermione came, tackled Draco to the ground and made her squeal like the girl she was. *g*

Harry Potter and his godfather. Did I mention that Sirius wasn't able to smile? But Harry's doing quite a god job. *g*

Harry in the hands of the Death Eaters. Draco is totally adorable again.

The endless suffering of Harry P.

Another Draco (a girl, with a very low voice, though) and a Pansy whose wig looked amazingly real.

The True Professor Snape.

Last picture. So out of character but sexy. ♥
