So i downloaded the soundtrack of Wicked. It's alright. Silly would be the word, i guess. Like, I'm pretty sure the chorus just sang "We love you, Glinda!" which would obviously make sense to the plot but come on. Even for a musical: silly

I guess you need to see the musical to understand the soundtrack...
They made "bad" sound like a sheep because there is a teacher who is a goat and he's singing.... so yeah "Ba-aa-aa--ad!"

read a synopsis of the musical, or read the book. i agree silly...but, if you listen to it a lot, it's strangely addictive
