My eyes
I look at something...anything...and it looks fine. Close up...far away...crystal clarity. If it wasn't for the headaches I started having last week, I wouldn't have gone to get my eyes check.
Sitting in the darkened room, I was asked to cover my left eye and look at a chart that was being projected against a wall. As is my habit when dealing with eye checks, I knew what letters made up both lines of the chart because I looked at them when walking in but, with only my right eye, the top line was fuzzy and the bottom line was a blur. The left eye was a little better but...Christ, I'm falling apart...it still sucked!
So now I need glasses and it'll take a week before I can get them. I can live with the glasses...I'll be glad when the headaches go away...but I now find myself closing an alternate eye to see just how bad it is. Both eyes: fine, either eye alone: sucks. Christ, I'm falling apart.
