let's just say that mac probably doesn't like her choices very much. *g* I never knew John Green quotes would drive me to this.
the interpreter mac (will/mac, brian/mac) - post 109. the reason is not simple.
They throw out the rundown. An hour and forty-two minutes later Will enters the control room, forehead shiny with sweat. “Good show.” He says, and she knows he doesn’t mean good show, but he doesn’t mean I love you either.
Like she said, she has no idea where his head is at.
Mackenzie fucks Brian. Twice. She says the wrong name when she comes and he tells her to get it the fuck together.
Why? you will ask. She will say that the reason is simple: she had an itch and her father once told her never talk to strangers.
The reason is not simple. But you already knew that.
“I have a title.” He says, as she dresses. “Do you want to hear it?”
“No.”
“It’s good.”
Her Blackberry’s blinking on the bed, and she has to lean across him to snatch it. He smirks. “The Greater Fool.” He says, hand reaching up to tuck back her hair. It’s not as tender as it sounds.
Adam Moss phones her. “Prepare yourself, McHale.” He says. The line crackles when he hangs up.
She texts Brian. What the fuck have you done?
You know how this goes. Will takes it badly. Will takes vicodin. Will takes naproxen. Will takes scotch.
Midnight and she’s about to rip Brian a new one when she hears Lonnie’s voice.
Oh.
They go for coffee. It is not civil. “I want you to leave and never come back.” She says, and her voice is level. And Brian knows better than anyone: she is dangerous.
Still, he grins with teeth. “Leave New York?”
“I’ve heard Pakistan is very nice this time of year.” It’s true. She’s been there. Got the scar.
His grin cracks into a chuckle and she narrows her eyes. He shakes his head at her because, of course, she’s just so exasperating. “You chose me.”
haha omg I was literally just saying to Becki that I wouldn't be surprised if it's revealed that Mac and Brian slept together in the interim between eps 9 and 10.

Seriously. Never stop writing fic for The Newsroom. You're incredible.
(And, tbh, I thought she was going to sleep with Brian on the show because Aaron Sorkin ruins lives.)
