Remus, are you ready for young Featherstonehaugh to bring the chickens? He's a good lad, and we've talked through the process of getting them to you - he'll come through with them in the hiatus between lessons, while the portal door's open.

Well, I've filled the stupid forms in, and hope very much that there aren't to be any more for a while! Honestly, I don't mind doing my bit, but the paperwork seems particularly steep this year. Ernest MacMillan, if you're reading this, I do hope you are enjoying your new "desktop companion". I couldn't think of a more deserving recipient.

I've been pondering for some time about getting another cat. I miss Caractacus, bless his soul...and lo and behold there's a post from young Susan Bones that mentions kittens! I shall think on it some more - after all, they can't be old enough yet to leave their mother. Perhaps a visit to Kew is imminent; it's been a while since old Wington and I drank an entire bottle of r met for a herbological debate.

Fourth Years, can I remind you that protective gloves are needed for tomorrow's lesson. Anyone forgetting to bring theirs will find themselves employed in a variety of mundane and messy tasks. You have been warned.
