New Entry; Mask
When I asked Carsis what had been bothering him all day I'd expected it to be... I don't know. Something like Yonu had decided to throw up a vole in my shoe this morning, and he'd cleaned it up without telling me but was afraid that I'd put it on and find a scrap of bile-covered fur. Or is it cats that do that sort of thing. Perhaps a small gnome instead of a vole
It couldn't be something so mundane, could it. Not in our lives, never! It's always kidnappings and hunters popping up out of nowhere to shoot Carsis in the chest and strange boxes arriving on our doorstep with--ether, what is that thing. It's a mask, I suppose? I can't imagine anyone would want to wear it. I've heard of people putting them up for decoration, but... Ugh. I shudder just picturing that thing on one of our walls. It's... I'm not sure. There's something that just feels wrong about it. Unsettling.
It's almost as though it's too real. I think Carsis feels it too. He certainly looked as though it was making his skin crawl while he was holding it.
I think it's made out of pig skin, perhaps. That's relatively lightly colored once it's been tanned, isn't it? Ether, I agree with him. I don't want to know.
Whatever it is, wherever it came from, whoever sent it... I'll be glad when that... thing... is safely locked away and deposited in the bank. I don't want it in our flat any longer than it has to be.
