AWESOME. I really love it. Particularly, "I smile again, but my eyes now burn".
Dude, I just looked through my document of poetry from high school, and I got something that also could apply to what I wrote about up there, probably:
To Be Alike, In Fitting In Oh, to be that which doth persecute. Oh, to travel forth in hot pursuit Of what seemed most unnatural to me. To then avenge our normalcy By rowing on a formal sea Of water-logged, distorted embassy. The ambassador is one I get To throw darts at and to regret With my fellows, assuring capture of what we Are certain is of devilry And lecherous new revelry, A thing the poor world never needs to see. To be able to grow out of The shadowed forests of foxglove And shake leaves with a fly or fallen tree. To fit in perfectly on earth, Upon the planet of my birth, To be able to curse the dark emcee Of all I did not understand, Of all I did remove my hand from, Long ago before slapping a fool or three. The fools try to pull us into The mindset lacking of taboo And create truly social liberty. To be able to have the world Behind my back as life’s paths swirled Around me like a perfect potpourri.
Thanks. :) Most of my poetry is complete and utter crap as I rediscovered last night, but there are a couple I still like.
I was looking at fanficrants again, and man, some of that stuff is a lot meaner than I thought it was, some of it for absolutely no reason at all. I'm not really that nice polite of a person in general, but it kind of shocked me. I mean, if random OCs are people, shouldn't, I dunno, people also be treated like people?
But it's got nothing to do with me, so I'm trying to ignore the train wreck and move on.

somehow, just hearing you say that makes me feel a lot better. <3
most of all, that you said it unprovoked, and not in response to me whining at you about this.

I have this closet nice streak, you know. It likes to manifest itself at the oddest times. That's why I try not to rant in public. Because there is just this part of me that thinks it's tacky.
