Video Game Performance problems....
For all you computer-wizard-types out there: I bought a new copy (because one of the CD's of my old copy was broken) of "Knights of the Old Republic." Yes, I'm a big dork.
I had a few problems getting it to run appropriately on some computers in the past but was able to resolve them. I don't remember specifics, because it's been a couple of years.
I'm trying to run it on this laptop from work, now, and it's so hugely slow as to be unplayable. My system passes all their required checks and crap like that, AND I've turned the resolution and graphics features way down to try to get better performance (as they recommend), with no solution. If anyone's good at troubleshooting this sort of crap, any help's appreciated.
