Hehe. I'm playing on the PS, so the limit breaks aren't as hard. Irvine's is giving me trouble, though, and I haven't actually ever USED Selphie or Zell's...they don't almost-die enough. XD
I also uh. Kinda giggle every. single. time. Squall says whatever. >_> His lack of social know-how is pretty funny too. I mean. I pretty much JUST had him give Rinoa a tour of his campus, and my god, the guy is the most boring tourguide, and Rinoa started trying to make him be more interesting... "This is the parking lot." "That's it? *facepalm*" was prolly my favorite line.
Rinoa... I'm just going to think of her as a very young, mostly spoiled child. I find that if I think of her as like ten, she's MUCH less annoying. Besides that, she COULD be redeemed if Selphie and Quistis take a cluebat to her head a few times. I like her dog, at least.
I dunno about lack of plot directions. =/ I could see confusing plot directions, but most of the time so far I've had a pretty good grasp of what's going on, where I'm going, and what I need to do.
And...no one's gonna kick MY ass. I've got a level 100 and two level 100 GFs. :| I wanna see them TRY to beat me up. Galbadian soldiers have decent magic and drop the /good/ shit. XD
Laguna's cool~ I do like Zell and Selphie more, though. Squall's like, tied with Laguna. I absolutely LOVE Squall's thoughts while he's dreaming he's Laguna. ^__^;;
yeah - and the fact that Irvine gave Squall a dirty magazine and Squall had NO CLUE what to do with it... that just.. wow. broke my brain.
I guess what really annoys me about Squall and Rinoa is that there's NO connection there. I mean. she gets this super crush on him or something and starts hitting him over the head with a baseball bat -and while that's a viable option to obtain clueless men, her tactics just don't seem to work on Squall! he's incredibly clueless for a teenager living with a whole ton of other teenagers in a military acadamy! I mean, Irvine and Selphie seem to have gotten it pretty quickly - and so did Quistis! She's aware of what sex is! But how the hell did Squall NOT learn about that?
in my estimation, I don't think Squall and Rinoa have any chemestry.

XDD
I think that Squall's one of THOSE students -- the ones who are SO dedicated to doing something that everything else doesn't get a single thought. I mean, we KNOW he doesn't connect with his peers, that's shown a few times. And we know his past is fucked up -- half-orphaned and half-abandoned, never knew his mother or father, doesn't remember his "sister," etc. I don't think he GETS his classmates -- I think they make no sense to him. I can see how knowing what sex is, but not attaching anything to it, not thinking "gee, I wanna try that sometime." Girls probably don't push themselves on him because he's got this ice-barrier up.
So here comes a girl who...doesn't stop. Who just keeps. trying. for him. Add to that that she and Seifer knew each other and she loved him (I think she /says/ that, when everyone thinks he was executed). She probably makes LESS sense to him than the other girls he's seen.
Not that I'm defending them or saying they have any chemistry. Personally, I think ZELL was hitting Squall with the I-like-you cluebat too, and also didn't get through. I really wanted him to, though. SHAKE HIS HAND, SQUALL. IT'S ALL HE'S EVER WANTED FROM YOU. I don't think they mesh, and if they ever go out, they'll probably find the relationship isn't good. But crush =/= omgtwulove, and so they'll move on and keep in touch and someday there'll be a ten-year-reunion and we'll find out that Squall somehow ended up with more kids than her. Not every romance has to be THE romance, and for all that the game says/implies it is, it's perfectly reasonable to smack some logic on it as soon as the credits are over.

hmmm. I dunno. I wanna at least give them a chance.. or something. though, another possible pairing is Squall/Seifer. I mean... seriously. They actually had some form of communication going on (which is real difficult when Squall is involved) and understood each other in a way. o.o;
not that I really support _any_ pairings in ff8, lol.
