lol. like I said - good things should be savored. I think these reading marathons are silly, honestly. not everyone has the time or ability to stay up all night reading, and to make fun of someone because they can't/don't/won't is silly. (hell, my dad's probably still on page 20 and he started it Saturday.)
I don't really consider it a "marathon" -- it's just. I want to get to the end. I want to find out what happens. I'll stop along the way to appease my imagination and such, but really.
I think it's part of being a kid. I rush. I like adrenaline. I eat my ice cream fast. Why shouldn't that be the same for books? I started Saturday afternoon, finished it way early Sunday morning -- that's slow for me. I put the ending on hold. I /did/ savor it -- I kept stopping to think up crossover ideas. But I don't generally read like that. That's just not part of my 'style,' I guess. I mean. I eat the book, barely bothering to chew, and then I digest. I talk to my parents. I talk to my sister. I talk to my friends. That's when I'm savoring it, I think. *shrug* Different opinions, I guess.
heh, not to mention that my dad's a rather slow reader. he got to the part where M... died, though. hmmm. *ponders your POV on it* interesting view. I suppose it makes sense. There've been a few books that I've stayed up into all hours of the night reading because I got to the point where I just couldn't put it down.
speaking of crossovers. you ever played Tales of the Abyss?
*cackles* well, the stuff that looks like TCTNW is really old stuff, built like 2000 years ago, so perhaps TCTNW is really bloody old and Xemnas just found it and took over?
Basic premise is that, instead of dying, the Riku Replica just took a nap. A really really long nap. In the Realm of Darkness. But he doesn't know that. He wakes up in Radiant Garden, not at all aware of how much time's passed (over a year, damn you KH canon and your non-specific timeline), and basically gets to know the locals. He tries to establish himself as Real -- separate from Riku, y'know -- and that works, somewhat. ...Which is about all I've written so far. But. ^^;;;
Plot-wise, I'm gonna throw the Destiny Trio at Radiant Garden at some point (thank you for the message in a bottle, Mickey). Also, thinking about reviving the Nobodies.
...I went in trying to write a SHORT Repliku/Leon fic. Twenty pages later I'm wondering if there's gonna be ANY real significant (plot-wise) pairings. And can you tell I came up with that plot at two in the morning? Because. I kinda did. |D
*cackles* It'd be total hypocracy if _I_ shot you for writing a chapter fic. *giggles* besides - I didn't have a plot when I first came up with SFS, so where you start doesn't matter so long as you figure out somewhere to take it before you've rambled too much.... o.o;; hehe. but really, the trick to writing long stuff is be CRUEL and UNKIND to your characters. if you want a pairing, throw Leon and Repliku into strange situations where they've got to work together at first (get some respect going between the two) then throw them into more and more akward situations... ** Yuffie leered, planting her hands on her hips, "Sooo, what WERE you two doing in the bailey together?" Repliku fumed, "NOTHING!" Leon looked away, "..." ** lol. <3
XDD I /think/ I have an idea -- because I've been throwing Repliku fic ideas around in my head for AGES. And. I like to be mean to him. So.
That's why I'm thinking I'm gonna bring back the Nobodies. Marluxia and Larxene and Vexen are all kinda pings for Repliku angst.
And he's already totally freaked out over a thunderstorm. Lightning and thunder do not bring up good memories, nosiree.
...And. Yuffie. Is like. Totally bonding with Repliku. And she would TOTALLY say that. I'm half-sure she'd SET THEM UP just so that she could say that.
...Damn you, I've got the frickin scene. I'm gonna have to write that down...
And thanks~~ 'Tis my I'm feeling creative :D! icon.
*nibbles* aww c'mon, a good thing should be savored!! ^_^

*nodnodnod* That's how HP books are for me.
Nope, never played. Heard a little about it though...

I swear, some of the archatecture looks like the Castle that Never Was...
a little disturbing, really.

Maybe they hired the same guy? I mean. The Abyss people got a guy to do their buildings, then he got Heartless'd and became a Nobody and built TCTNW.
...what? It could happen.

Or else Xemnas used his Power (of Copyright Infringement) to steal TotA's architecture style.
