I THINK THIS IS MY FIRST POST SINCE THE NEW YEAR. XD
Yeah, I kinda. Fail.
ANYWAYS.
Toured USC last week, which was awesome. Everybody was so pumped up about school spirit, and apparently the vast majority of the student body goes to football games, and I was getting pumped up because empty library = no competition for computers. Every weekend in football season. XD
Ummmm... Can legally drive now, with an adult in the car. Can't technically drive safely, yet, though -- I'm bad at turns and lights and uh. Going the speed limit. Or goig about twenty in most cases, really. I can, however, park! So, yeah. Need practice. ^^;;
Still working on the fic. Blah on that. Aiming for 6k as a minimum, So I'm a little over a third of the way there. 'Sanother mixed chapter... Which reminds me, when I post the whole thing on FF.N, I'm going to redo those, or I'm going to try to, anyway. Split them in two and expand. Yeah. Plan on that, anyway.
Playing FFVII now. I recently realized that I own slightly less than half the FF games (VII, VIII, IX, X, XII, not counting X-2 -- which I own -- or Tactics, or FFXII Revenant Wings -- neither of which I own and YES, Firefox spellchecker, Revenant IS a word, Bill Gates Microsoft Word's dictionary and spellchecker tell me so), and yet I have never between one. With VII, I'm getting there, but I'm training and doing sidequests at the moment. Same with VIII and XII. X and X-2... I know I'm stuck on X (Seymour, Mt. Gagazet), but I can't remember on FFX-2. :/ IX, I... I think I just got to the world map. If memory serves (it's been a few months since I played), then Zidane is standing right outside the cave I need to go into? Or something like that? Yeah.
The problem with playing FFVII and VIII is that I want to include more of their stories in the fic. I seriously think I need to sit down with a copy of all my stuff, and compile a backstory, because really, if I don't I'll end up retconning something without meaning to -- or noticing.
I also need to construct a plot for the thing. "Lol wherever the plotbunny leads~!" will only work for so long before it starts getting out of hand. I'm lucky right NOW, because Zack's end of the plot can't happen until some other stuff happens, and while that other stuff is coming up, it prolly won't be an issue for the next few chapters. Kairi, on the other hand, sorta needs SOME kind of information, either this chapter or the chapter after next.Which is cool, 'cause I know what that info is, but I definitely need some planning there, stat. The next Kairi chapter will probably at least get her and the gang to their first world, and I'm debating a few at the moment. Which. I need to hurry up and decide on. Yeah.
Also, for some reason I have respect points for Shera, from FFVII, even though I REALLY expected not to, and I want to at least mention either her in the fic, or what happened to her. She's on Gaia with Vincent and Cait Sith and all the other FFVII people who haven't yet been mentioned. Whether Gaia is really fucked up or somewhat stable or a dead planet with no life on it, I dunno yet. BACKSTORY TIME~ So, yeah. Gonna need to somewhat reconcile Shera vs. Edea and all that stuff.
Andandand, before I forget, A WINNAR IS ME. Not only did I trek up (and occasionally down and across and backwards! ...yeah, I got lost a few times) the length of Wutai (Wutai Island? If you've ever played FFVII, you know what I'm talking about), but I did it AFTER the scene with Yuffie, and I BARELY GOT HURT. Yeah. Wutai monsters < Tifa + Cloud + Vincent. And with most of them dropping X-potions (and good experience ♥), the entire sidequest was LOADS easier than I was expecting. Now, to grab Aerith's final limit, and then I'm off to the Temple of the Ancients~!
Is it bad that, in my fic, I shipped Cloud/Tifa when I barely knew the characters, and now that I know them better, I ship Cloud/Tifa SO MUCH HARDER and yet Aerith is my second-favorite character in the game? I mean, I ALSO ship Aerith/Tifa and Aerith/Cloud and Aerith/Cloud/Tifa in any combination of topping, not to mention the insane number of pairings/threesomes/foursomes/etc. that I ship between them and Yuffie and Zack and Sephiroth. But I think my FFVII OTP is Cloud/Tifa. My crack!OTP is Sephiroth/Yuffie. Don't get me started on any of the others.
For the moment, I'm trying to shove all FF-oriented and -inspired creative juices towards the fic, because I wanna finish that before starting anything else.
Anyways, prolly won't be around much tomorrow -- going to Red Robin and Barnes and Noble. ^^
