Okay, so. Three in-class essays, 24 pages of study questions due, and a French test. Not exactly my idea of a good Friday.
Think I did really bad on the French and AP Euro essays, but the English one was a critical review for Walden and I kinda knew what I was going to write when I walked in there. So hopefully I did alright on that...? Got most of the study questions for there done too, I might get a C on the whole packet, but if not I already got my get-out-of-jail-free card when I told my mom about it. Also, finished five Dialectical Journals (quote analyses, basically) at school today. Only took me a period, really. And I got most of the study questions done in PreCal, too...
But, of course, there had to be MORE. Fucking dumbasses in my Chemistry class. The teacher split us up into boys vs. girls groups because he's a sexist bastard and one of the boys decided that it'd be really smart to say "boys are better than girls" or something of the like for the. entire. period. The teacher -- who totally believes that girls are wired to be dainty little caregivers (he made a comment about a two-year-old girl and a two-year-old boy being put in the same toy room, and the girl immediately going for the doll and wrapping it up like a baby, etc. etc., and was surprised and skeptical when me and a male senior were like "UM HELLO SOCIETY TRAINED HER TO DO THAT") -- even told this kid to shut up.
Yeah. That's called hostile environment and sexual discrimination. That can also be called harassment, and it's kind of really illegal. Especially in schools.
My mom told to ask for a pass out of class if that happens again, and that's what I'll do. And if the teacher doesn't let me go and doesn't stop the behavior, my mom can call the school board. I don't care if it's just a game, or if I'm "taking things way too seriously," because no. I am not going to sit in a class and let him do that. No no nonono. And I really don't care if he SAYS that it's just a tactic to win. I cheat, I play dirty, I like winning. I see nothing wrong with any of that, unless you're not good enough to not get caught (and then it's your own damn fault and you need to just suck it up and take your punishment). But there ARE boundaries, and that's one of them.
What sucks is that this type of situation isn't even odd. I mean. If the teacher split the class into heterosexuals vs. homosexuals, there would be some serious problems. The parents of the homosexuals would be on the phone with the principal reeeeally quickly. And if someone got called a fag, consistently, for an hour? Uhhuh, not gonna fly.
Grrrr. Gotta go now -- maybe I'll cool off while I'm out. Sigh.
