((OOC: I'd like to apologize for this. What Heracles is saying is actually something similar that occurred where I work, and I'm using him to vent. What actually occurred was, a boy at work decided to tell me in detail about how he's going to torture these cats where I work to death. And it hurt. I'll bug you guys with this another time. This is a time for RPing))
*sighes* You know, I've come to the conclusion that no matter where I travel in the world, there will always been cruel people. It's a shame. There are people all over who just...don't have respect for life in any form.
I saw this boy earlier, while I was venturing outside of campus, seeing what the general area looked like. And he was holding a cat. An incredibly injured, and bruised cat. Shocked, I ran up to the boy and I asked him what was wrong.
And he smiled at me and said "I beat the damn thing. It's gonna die."
I took the poor cat from him and scolded him for hurting a defenseless creature, and held the poor animal in my arms. It wasn't going to die. I could tell. But...it was injured. It needed to be cared for. It was bleeding, and was in bad shape.
She's in my room right now, and I've decided to call her Athena. She's strong, and she's fighting it, I think she'll be all right. A bit gimpy for a while, but she'll be better in no time. I can tell. My other cats can tell. They're checking up on her a lot.
But it stings my soul to know how people can just hurt something smaller and weaker than them...Just for fun.
It's sad to know that people can be cruel anywhere. I was hoping that I'd start at this school to find kind-hearted people in this area. But alas, no. Lack of respect for life is everywhere I guess.
Athena is doing better than I could have hoped. I plan on keeping her at this point if she doesn't have an owner already.
...I've been here for how many days now? I've already got two more cats.
