Bailout v. Bankruptcy*(re-structuring)
As Carrie Bradshaw would say, I couldn't help but wonder, today, amidst the talk of bailout v. bankruptcy for GM, what is really best for Americans?
Some would say that GM and the big 3 American auto companies don't deserve to be "bailed out" that failed leadership and lack of vision brought them to where they are, unable to compete. However, don't forget that the US automakers have to deal with the UAW and that is what is upping their costs as well.
I think my choice would be for them to file for chapter 11, as a restructuring agent, then let them get back on track and be the leader of American companies to get us out of our dependance on fossil fuels. Maybe this is a good opportunity.
