One of my patients died today. She was a nice lady...a bit odd, but nice. She came in this morning with her dog, but she didn't have any next of kin that we could get a hold of. None of her neighbors really knew her and they didn't want the dog. How do I know? Boss had me wandering around her building with him, knocking on doors.

Finally get back to the hospital and I'm told there ain't much we can do, and I should take him to the shelter.

I don't want to take him to the shelter. It's depressing there. I tried. I really did. But he looked at me with this face and...

Well...
