47 (Camping out)

Jan 03, 2012 17:41

[Minnie has been in Saffron, diligently training Scrooge the Hoothoot and Yen Sid the Medicham, and in fact is letting them roam around freely ever since she got the latter returned to her. Medicham is even allowed to play with the Pokgear again, as Minnie is walking around town, so that's why the Video is on. Actually, Minnie is far too invested ( Read more... )

[WHAT THE HECK ;A; Now he feels responsible, too.]

MINNIE! Are you alright?!

You, Medicham, help her up, now!

[Uuuh, shouting orders through the Pokégear to someone else's Pokémon... let's just say he likes taking chances.]

[she can faintly hear him, and tries to slow down her kicking.]

I-I'm all right, really! ... Though I'm afraid to find out what this smell is...

[As for Medicham, he seems to be shaking... oh, no, wait, he's repressing laughter.]

... Tell your Medicham to help you out of there. It's not responding to me.

He isn't?!

[Medicham pouts. Aw man, why do you have to be a tattle-tale?]

Live up to your name this instant, young man!

[Fiiine! He huffs, and goes up to the can. He calmly grabs one of her legs, then hoists her up. She quickly yanks down - up? - on her skirt to prevent fanservice before he puts her on the ground. There's much debris in her hair.]

Ooooh, I hate being tall!

[... still very short in human standards, but she still considers it tall.]

From the looks of it and given the size of the can, if you had been the average height of an adult woman belonging to the mouse race, you could have gotten a concussion. I am not sure that would have been preferable.

What, exactly, made you think that reading while walking was a good idea?

[While his tone is a little harsh, he's not being mean, he was just worried, etc.]

[she begins picking things out of her hair.]

Well, I really wanted to know if... Oh! The book!

[it's still in the can! She quickly gets back up and sticks her upper half in it again, until she digs it out, brushing off any trash on it.]

Thank goodness, it's okay...

[Yen Sid starts laughing, can't help it this time.]

[He sighs. Books are important, okay? And really rare where Gorthan's from. You won't believe what this guy does on his home planet to avoid damaging them.]

I suggest you teach proper discipline to that Medicham.

[She sits on her knees, resuming cleaning her hair.]

I suppose I have been a little... lax on his training, ever since I got him back. I was just so happy to get him back that I've been letting him do what he wants.

[Yen sid grins... then gives an 'oof' as Scrooge the HootHoot makes an appearance, sitting on his head.]

I was hoping he'd be like my others, and be like his namesake.

So he's the one you recovered from...? I see. And his namesake would be...?

[He seems a little intrigued by the Hoothoot. He likes owls, what to do.]

[Medicham tries to pull the Hoothoot off, but he's staying in place. That's what you get, jerk.]

Yen Sid. My husband's master, and the one who taught me how to use magic. He's a great, wise man who has advised the royal family for many years.

[This may have had more of an impact if she wasn't pulling food out of her hair.]

I owe a great deal to him.

I see. The name of a wise man for such an unwise creature... To think of all that Medicham owes to you, too. I'm curious - how did you obtain it?

[Because ever since evolving his Kirlia and realizing the potential of the Psychic-Fighting combination, he wants to get as much of that action as possible.]

I actually got him two years ago.

[Satisfied with her hair, she begins wiping the book clean with a handkerchief pulled from out of her bag.]

The first Christmas I spent here, everyone woke up to find a Pokemon egg at their side. It was like a gift from Johto, and so he was my gift. Speaking of gifts...

[She hugs the book.]

Thank you.

Ah, then I can only wish that something similar had happened this year. I recently read about a very interesting Pokémon species, but it seems to be native to a region a good ways from Johto and Kanto.

On the other hand, I am rather content with the gift I did end up receiving from Johto, so I suppose I cannot complain.

[Seriously, for a moment there he was afraid he'd have to spend his entire salary on tailors.]

What Pokemon is it? You've got me all curious.

[and maybe she can give him one, is that obvious implication.]

Beldum and its evolutions, Metang and Metagross. They appear to be able to bionic intelligences, integrating robotic functioning with an extremely complex, organic-like thought process. Which is precisely what I had been researching before being transported here.

[she just blinks at all the words that fly over her head.]

... Beldum, Metang, and Metagross. Well, I'll try to keep an eye out for them.
