[Drabble] BR Drabbles II
Male and Female Students 5 through 14.
Male Student 5:
Shogo Kawada.
It was almost like déjà vu. He could remember lying half awake on the night before his first Program, listening to his father bang around downstairs, and wondering why he had such an uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach. Now he was alone, in the loft of his father’s friends’ apartment, and thinking that he was just paranoid, pushing the thought of the government files to the back of his head. After all, the chances he would in another Program had to be nonexistent.
Female Student 5:
Izumi Kanai.
She finished packing, and placed her bag in the hallway next to the door so she would remember to grab it on her way out. Her father smiled at her from the dinner table, where he was working on some paperwork for the busy day at the office tomorrow. He asked her if she needed any extra money. She said no, she should be fine, as long as she wasn’t around Ryuhei again. He had taken off with nearly two thousand yen last time. This trip, she determined, she wouldn’t be around him at all.
Male Student 6.
Kazuo Kiriyama.
He had packed the day he found out about the trip, too bored to do anything else. He had not said anything, even as his “family” did, about the events planned, and the fact that they would not be allowed to wander away. He had not even noticed the absence of the moon the night before he left. He only noticed the strange itch above his ear and the odd dryness in his mouth.
Female Student 6:
Yukiko Kitano.
She climbed into bed after saying her prayer, as she had done every night since she could talk, and pulled her knit covers up to her chin, wrapped in warmth away from the cold of her open window. And every night she thought of two people before she went to sleep; Shuya, who she would have loved to dream about, and Yumiko, who she strangely aways did.
Male Student 7:
Yoshitoki Kuninobu.
He couldn’t sleep, mainly because Shuya on the bottom bunk kept thrashing around and snoring. But also because he could hear Miss Anno outside their bedroom door, cleaning after a long day, and he had the strangest desire to talk to her one last time before he left for the trip. He couldn’t wait until he was old enough to finally tell her how he felt.
Female Student 7:
Yumiko Kusaka.
She never slept with blankets, always a sheet, even in the dead of winter. Currently she was sprawled over her bed, thinking about the school trip and if there would be any hikes or other sports activities she could get Yukiko to enjoy. She wondered if Yukiko was sleeping well, even now, and fell asleep thinking of her smaller friend.
Male Student 8:
Yoji Kuramoto.
His girlfriend had left a couple of hours before his parents got home at dinnertime, which was fine with him, he still didn’t know how to introduce her to them. She had been asking about that, when she would meet them, but he had finally come up with a response and a final time; after the school trip. He promised.
Female Student 8:
Kayoko Kotohiki.
Her mother saw her into bed that night, after making sure she had everything essential for the trip. Kayoko had smiled and told her things would be okay, even through her mother’s tears. She only wished her could bring her kimono with her, in case of a chance to show her skills. She went to bed with a smile and a blush on her face, thinking of him.
Male Student 9:
Hiroshi Kuronaga.
He came home late, as always, ignored his screaming mother and father, as always and decided that he could leave sooner if he packed tonight, as always thinking of ways to be away. He shoved his least dirty clothes into an old military bag and went to sleep soon afterwards, even though the loud noise of the television and slamming sounds from outside.
Female Student 9:
Yuko Sakaki.
She spent the last night before the school trip with her mother, who prayed for her safety and told her that it wouldn’t be very scary, but that God would watch over her with her friends. She climbed in bed, assuring herself she would okay as long as she stayed with friends. She went to sleep with dreams of long drops, then nothing at all.
Male Student 10:
Ryuhei Sasagawa.
He hadn’t been home in weeks, only stopping by for a few minutes to throw some clean clothes into a bag and take some money from his father’s wallet. He instead slept in the alley a few blocks away from the school, next to a market where the owners didn’t mind him using their back room shower, and close enough that he would be the second to meet his boss, after Mitsuru.
Female Student 10:
Hirono Shimizu.
She checked her reflection in the mirror, to make sure her roots weren’t coming in, then left the hotel of her latest catch, taking his wallet and the small plastic bag with her. She arrived home a few minutes later, walking quietly past her father who had stayed up to wait for her. In her room, she hid the money and the drugs in her school bag, to hand them to Mitsuko the following day. Then, she decided again and took a few to help her sleep.
Male Student 11:
Hiroki Sugimura.
He meditated for thirty minutes before sleeping, and before saying goodnight to his family, made sure everything was packed and ready to go, except his favorite book, which he would put in his pocket to read on the bus. His father wished him luck and he went to sleep with a bashful grin on his face, thinking of Kayoko and what he wanted to do with his friends.
Female Student 11:
Mitsuko Souma.
She had been “home” just long enough to pack her suitcase and check her makeup, before leaving again to spend the night at the house of a man she had met a few days prior, and was offering to let her stay the night, provided she give him memories to last the week she would be gone. Afterwards, she wrapped herself in the blankets as he slept, ignored the knot of frustration in her stomach, and inwardly felt upset over the lack of moonlight.
Male Student 12:
Yutaka Seto.
His mother had thrown a fit when she found out about the week-long study trip and it had taken the combined efforts of Yutaka, his father and his teacher to calm her down, and her tirade had stopped only when Shinji had stepped in, charm on full blast. Yutaka made sure to pack the things that he knew would cause fun and laughter and as usual, went to bed early with his mother’s command and a promise to call her every day.
Female Student 12:
Haruko Tanizawa.
She was tired and sore, from a day full of practice and had nothing more then to look forward to finally relaxing on the island of Kyushu and getting away from her coach. She laid in the bath for a while, with her younger sister, who gushed over the exoticness and romanticness of the trip, and smiled when the younger girl pleaded for details when she got back.
Male Student 13:
Yuichiro Takiguchi.
He wasn’t looking forward to this trip. Two of his favorite series were releasing new episodes in the next week and he was bound to miss them, even if he had asked his parents to try and tape them. He made sure to put in copies of his newest manga, so he could reread them on the trip and went to sleep with almost no restlessness at all.
Female Student 13:
Takako Chigusa.
She had packed, but left her track clothes out so that she could go for her usual early morning jog with Hiroki before they had to be at school. As usual, she meticulously laid out her jewelry on her dresser and brushed out her hair. Her parents came into wish her a good night and be safe, and told her that they had to work early the next day, so she might not see them. She said that was fine, and she could call them when she arrived.
Male Student 14:
Sho Tsukioka.
He had had his clothes over at his newest boyfriend’s house for the past week, having packed in a hurry while his father and mother were out at a social event. Said boyfriend was a bit put out over Sho leaving for so long and had insisted they go out in their finest dresses to a night club. It was after three and he still hadn’t slept but he was having too much being with people like him (who complimented his hair, too!) to care.
Female Student 14:
Mayumi Tendo.
She took the upmost care with her hair, always brushing it out and making sure that there were no split ends or frizz. Her showers were long and she made sure to take along her expensive shampoos. She got into bed carefully and made sure her braid wasn’t twisted. She almost dreaded this school trip. What if she got dirt into her hair?
Male Student 5:

Her mother saw her into bed that night, after making sure she had everything essential for the trip. Kayoko had smiled and told her things would be okay, even through her mother’s tears. She only wished her could bring her kimono with her, in case of a chance to show her skills. She went to bed with a smile and a blush on her face, thinking of him.
Male Student 9:

He meditated for thirty minutes before sleeping, and before saying goodnight to his family, made sure everything was packed and ready to go, except his favorite book, which he would put in his pocket to read on the bus. His father wished him luck and he went to sleep with a bashful grin on his face, thinking of Kayoko and what he wanted to do with his friends.
Female Student 11:
Mitsuko Souma.
