Every time I watch an episode of the Clone Wars I come away with the creeping sensation that George Lucas is playing some kind of subtle game with the next generation, including hidden counter-themes under a layer of straightforward gung-ho traditional war narrative.
Or maybe it's just stupid storytelling and I'm trying to find excuses for it.
