My psych teacher is really cool, but she always has us doing some sort of odd exercise like laughing in the middle of no where or memorizing pointless number sequences. oh my god that's a fascinating question. i mean, ive always believed there there are two kinds of intelligence: like, actual intelligence and emotional intelligence or maturity. sometimes it seems my emotions are more like one my senses: they're how i experience the world and know how to react to things, just as my sense of smell or taste or touch. i know that when i work a double on monday and then go into work the next day, i feel depressed, thus i shouldn't do that often. i know that when i get caught follow someone at 20 miles an hour through the canyon and that person makes me late to work, i feel angry and frustrated. my emotions show me how to react to the world and change my action, so in the future i leave earlier and don't work as much. AND i don't trust my emotions because they're so flawed and biased.

but i also feel like emotions are deriven from information, so i wouldn't have a complex field of emotions without my intellect. i would simply be a child, reacting to things without rhyme or reason. because, as you said, the two are so intertwined. i feel as though i'd be fairly useless without any intellect to connect with my emotions.

that's just a really great question.
