Room 414, Friday Morning

Henry was sitting on his bed with a focused look on his face. He was writing in the log-book.
He had developed a habit of making frequent journal entries, and after getting a chance to become acquainted with Fandom, he felt ready to write down his first impressions.
This task was not as easy as it might seem. Henry liked to write quickly, and scribbled down whatever came to mind. He could usually keep his own mind on a train of thought, but this morning, someone else kept breaking in…

January 5, 2007

Three days ago, I arrived at my new secondary school, Fandom High. After an absolutely terrifying flight from London, I admit that I was not very keen towards the bulk of the new technologies. However, I’m adjusting far better than I had before. Yesterday morning, I discussed the television with another boy on my floor (Note: His name is Teddy. Do not forget it). The night before, a younger girl (Note: Matilda. Do not forget her name), reassured me that airplanes are in fact much safer than the usual method of transportation, automobiles (which are not the same as cabs. Do not confuse the two). The lesson I gleamed from this conversation was to never trust any futuristic method of transport. It shall be a locomotive (should they still exist), bicycle (same), or my own two feet.
Edward was out last night, and for the last time until his class, I should think. He frightened some poor young man who was walking a dog (Note: The guy’s name was “Catboy.” Do not forget it.)
Please be quiet, Edward. I am attempting to make sure that I do not forget this week’s proceedings. Besides, the notes on your behavior are particularly important to me.
I ought to be taking notes. Mine would be much more interesting.
I doubt that greatly.
I can use more vibrant language.
Of that I do not doubt. But your coarse words and inappropriate drawings are best left out of my log-book.
Henry, If it were for me, you’d be well on your way to dying without having had any fun.
I’ll pass on your idea of fun, thanks very much.
Where was I? Ah, yes. Edward was making his own assessment of the area outside of the dormitories, And, may I add, not getting lost. Unlike some people I could mention…
Hush. Edward scared away someone Catboy whose name we never learned. Other than that, no real harm was accomplished, but I think it safer to keep the HJ7 tucked away until his Superheroing class.
You realize that I will destroy you for that.
I took the liberty of signing him up for a class. I figure it will do him some good to get out on a frequent basis, and if it’s in a classroom of powerful beings, he’ll be forced to treat them with respect.
This only makes me hate you more.
I’ve only signed myself up for three classes. That is the school minimum, but I figure that I’ll end up doing Edward’s homework as well You better believe it. and I don’t need a full course load during my first semester here. My class is on Monday: Twenty-first Century Popular Culture. I have a great deal of catching up to do, and I’m hoping that this class will help. On Tuesday, it’s Zen Computer Science. I understand that I need to learn how to use a computer, and that it will probably be beneficial to my work. Tuesday is also Edward’s Supreheroing class. From what I gather, being a superhero involves keeping one’s own identity secret. I trust that this will aid me in keeping Edward secret, and hope that it will instill some modicum of caution into Edward’s proceedings.
Continue to think optimistically like that. I’d hate to see your hopes violently crushed. Finally, on Thursday, I have an anatomy course. I can continue to study Chemistry on my own, but I desperately need more knowledge of the human body. THAT’S for sure. I will never get far in any medical field with only chemical knowledge.
So, I’m eager for classes to begin, and I hope to see some more of my new friends again.
Hey, Henry, why don’t you write their names down so you don’t forget? I think you’ve missed a few people.
Oh, sod off. You don’t need to complain, I’m finished anyway.

OOC: Open to anyone. Henry would welcome the company.
