Many days have past since i left new words here. i don't have much new news cause its all kind of old news by now. not that it matters. i think Ryan is the only one that looks at this anyways, and Ryan knows more about whats going on with us than matt and i combined. hey Ryan, whats up. since we are on the subject of ryan. i would like to add my thoughts of Ryans awsomeness. i will do so with an analogy.
you see. Matt and I are just like flimsy pieces of construction paper. i mean, sure paper's nice and all, espescialy if its pretty, colorful construction paper. but its nothing special. we're, you know, like paper floating by, like trash, im sure it dosn't sound that bad in Spanish. (i think ryan may be the only one to get that reference to a certain movie *wink) anyways. you get that we are paper. now, the key part. Ryan is not paper. Ryan is a wonderful shiny new glue stick. ryan sticks the two pieces of paper together, and makes these two seemingly ordinary pieces of paper into a single composition. a beautiful new thing. it could be like a nice collage or something. so thank you Ryan for being that glue stick.
now, what sorts of old news do we have. well, our last show was at the CWC. i think it went quite well. would have been nice to see a few more people there for such a marvelous show. which featured by the way, us, The Winston Jazz Routine, and House of Heroes. everyone that was there i greatly appreciate. i'd also like to give a big shout out to my main man,JD, for doing sound. Holla'. Winston Jazz had preorder for their new CD. boy i cannot wait to get it. they are super dooper, not to meantion some wonderful young men with just such a bright future ahead of them. i also particularly enjoyed watching House of Heroes. They are quite awsome. just amazing musicians. and very wonderful people. now, some of you might be thinking, "House of Heroes...well, i watched them play and heard their music but, they simply aren't good for my image." (ryan you may have seen that coming)
i am thankful that i am coming to the point where i can look at music and musicians in a different light than i could in the past and realy be able to appreciate the musicianship of good artists.
Oh Ya. i have some new news. i guess i bought a new laptop computer today on ebay. its an ibook. i really didn't expect to win, so it sort of surprized me to see when i got home from work that i had won the bid for a computer. i guess i got a good deal. is $400 for an ibook good? there is one flaw. it has some vertical line going through the screen, which i didn't notice it said it had untill after i bought it. crap. oh well, i guess it will be pretty neat. im not sure what i'll do with it. but hey, its and ibook!
i typed alot of stuff. its time to goto bed now.
oh ya, i got all caught up in the pointless new and forgot to report on the somewhat relevant news.
on June 19th, we are playing at Java Joes in Berlin, this was suposed to be the release of our cd, but realisticly i don't think i will have it quite done. it just needs mixed pretty much. so i think we will have demos and preorder like Winston Jazz did because it was such a darn good idea. thats all
Joey
p.s. One more news item. i got a new lense the other day for my camera for $20! its pretty sweet. and what a deal!
