Sleepy Bean

I know I've repeatedly gloated about my sleep schedule, staying up late, sleeping late; And either I just sleep better during my weekends in Res and missing this weekend has put me off, or my late sleep schedule has caught up with me.

I've been quite tired all day, I'm not sure why though. But I got up around 11, the dogs were whimpering and whining because my mom and John had just left to go and see Dr. Rob. I watched a bit of tv, and had a smoothie and got ready to walk down to class. They showed up about 5 minutes before I was going to walk down haha. So I lucked out, got to finish the episode of CSI I was watching and then it was off I go.

Philosophy has gone back to being incredibly dull. And it would seem that I'm an anomaly at doing well, because the entire class is redoing the test. I guess I'm back in my field of being gifted, which makes sense I suppose since what I scored best in was reading comprehension. I'm starting to get anxious about my student loan, I have 16 days to pay my tuiton or I'll be tossed out and have insta-Bad-Credit. Which kind of sucks, I mildly recall paying my tuitiion in early March, but I suppose that's not that different.

I went over to Cow High to see Mrs. Chatterton about getting a reference letter from her, and apparently she's retired. [But the English teacher I hated and was told got fired for going crazy was still there! Augh!] I went and saw Mr. Hart and asked him for a letter, which he was more than happy to do, we talked about all that's happened in the [gasp] two years since I was at Cow High, he asked about Chris a bunch. Hart was definitely one of the best teachers I had, and going to Europe and having History 12 with him was an awesome touch in the grad year. As I was leaving, he told me that last he heard Chatts was in Europe for a month. So I'm going to go and see student services [the people hiring me] and talk to them about everything tomorrow.

Came home and listened to World War Z and sent an email off to Hart that he asked for. Had dinner and it was back to class again.

If Philosophy was incredibly dull, Psychology should have killed me. I read about World War Z out of boredom for the first bit, my professor was talking about Research Methods. I'd forgotten my pencil case, so I just typed it out on my computer in a few minutes [probably 2% of the time she took to talk about it all] and read about some of the experiments that happened before Ethics was applied to Psychology haha.
Then, it was time to watch a movie. It was called "The Survival of Man" which of course to me, instantly equalled Zombies. I believe it was actually about violence in mankind, but it was just about Zombies in my mind haha.

After the movie, we some how got to all the moms in the class talking about raising children. I was only half heartedly listening when one made the example of "A kid playing xbox all day is more likely to commit an act of violence than a kid who's been playing soccer all day", then I was quite annoyed.
I hate the close-mindedness of the parenting world these days, blaming things they've tired to make do the parenting for them when something goes bad. In the close knit group of Enginerds, we can sit in a circle and look at each person and see a person who given no consequences would probably gladly take a day to play xbox and enjoy themselves. Tom kicks ass at Halo, but I know he wouldn't hurt a fly. Ryan will shout and get in your face when he wins, but [if he's sober] I know it's very unlikely he'll be violent about something. And I know a lot of them, like Chris had a different gaming system all through out their lives. And they're all upstanding citizens. It's the parents who let their 8 year old play Gears of War and Halo, both M rated games, because they don't want to take the time to take their kid to the park or run around and play with him. They can't be bothered, so let the Xbox 360 babysit them and then blame video games if anything goes wrong. What a croc, but just because a few kids were treated in such a way, and did go down a wrong path, it's ballooned up and over the good name of video games. Fuck that shit, just because one kid killed his parents over Halo 3. Well obviously his parents didn't teach him the value of life and love quite well enough did they?

Well that's my rant for the day, haha. I came home and made a smoothie and wrote this. I think I'll go play a violent video game before getting a good night's sleep and going back out and being an upstanding citizen of the world.

The game.
