Political ranting

So, I'm back in MI for the second time in 2 weeks. This time my family had a family reunion and it might be the only time I get to see my niece for the year (she lives in RI). The get together was wonderful, but boy am I ready to go home. I bought a one way ticket to come out here... firstly it was way cheaper than round trip, and secondly my parents had planned on driving out on the 17th to come visit, so if I couldn't find a deal on a one way back, I can just ride with them. Unfortunately that is the case. I'm not looking forward to driving to NY again... Margaret and I drove last time, and I swore off the whole driving thing. But this will be my first time making the drive with someone, so perhaps it won't be as bad. And since I can sit in the back, sleep, feed Margaret, etc., the drive won't take nearly as long and Margaret won't cry nearly as much.

Margaret has 4 teeth now. She crawls all over, likes to stand, and is the happiest baby I have EVER seen! She loves to smile, laugh, and make other people smile. I can't believe how quickly time passes! We went to the zoo today. She loved the monkeys and goats. Sheesh, the zoo has changed since I used to go as a kid. I think the last time I was there was with Liz and Brad in 2001.

I am completely sick of politics. I'm sick of president bush not being willing to work with the democrats, I'm sick of the democrats thinking they are right and there is no compromise, I'm sick of all the scandals the republicans seem to be getting themselves into. I'm sick of Al Gore trying to promote Global Warming... this whole Live Earth concert was a flop, it's funny to read the stats on the concert. Pretty much all of the celebrities that speak out against global warming are hypocrites, and should set an example of making changes instead of just preaching about using automobiles less while they own 9, have 4 houses, private jets, etc. etc. etc. This whole global warming hype drives me insane. I agree that we certainly can treat our earth better, and Americans are very wasteful people, but I do not think that we are destroying the planet. Why didn't someone tell the animals that lived during the ice age (did any live during the ice age?) that their existence was causing all of the glaciers to recede and the ice caps to melt? Have we forgotten that ice has melted before? And I don't know about anyone else, but this last winter was freezing! I guess I just can't ignore the fact that the earth has gone through cycles ever since it's creation, and what's to say this isn't just a natural cycle of the earth? I'm making no sense.

You know, why can't we have person in the presidency that honestly wants what is best for America. I think Bush is a good man. And I don't think he intentionally is doing bad things... but I'm started to get sick of how he ignores advice from others. America really needs a person that has humility as one of their traits. Someone humble enough to set aside their pride and ego to take advice from congress, from advisers and from the American people. UGGH!

Well, I could go on all night, but I need to get to bed. I'm singing at a funeral tomorrow. We'll see how that goes. This lady insisted that I sang at her funeral... she's never heard me sing, she knew I live in NY, but just so happened to die while I was out here. It's an honor to sing, but I'm nervous! I have to sing accapella... I'm the pianist as well, and the piano is in another room.

Until later.
