Home, finally, from over a week at Mom's for Christmas. Traffic in Baton Rouge is still very messed up, with half of New Orleans living there now. John was supposed to join us on Friday or Saturday, but he got the Cold from Hell. We told him not to come, since Mom's in chemo. I got to eat chicken and sausage gumbo, shrimp poboys, red beans and rice, and shrimp etouffe. There were no Louisiana crawfish to be found at the grocery store - Chinese crawfish? No thanks. We all prepared fixin's for Christmas dinner listening to Queen really loudly. I had to stay a day longer than I had planned - thanks to my sister, Elise. "You're staying 'til Wednesday, right? 'Cause Mom's got Cancer." Sigh. Thanks to Christa for giving me cool new music, too!
Ian played with his trains, played with my sister's friends, and played Sorry with everyone. He poured teh cute all over everyone. When introduced to Herpreet (Elise's friend), he says to her, "I love your hair! This is my mommy, I love her very much. This is my Aunt Elise, I love her too. I like your bracelet!"
One of Dad's dogs, George, the rat terrier, figured out that Tynan is just as comfy to snuggle as my dad.
I figured out how to knit and purl without dropping stitches AND bind off. Finished a hat and a big scarf for Mom, a hat for Elise, a scarf for Christa and one for a niece. Christa wants a hat with ear flaps, and I still have to make some other scarves and hats for the other nieces.
After fretting for days over what abysmal grade I would get in Geometry (not the easy, high school variety, either), I got a B. I have *NO* idea how I pulled that one out. She must have curved monstrously much. Yay!
