This is rather nifty, the new PSP Go:

On one hand it's neat that they've upgraded it, on the other hand, I love my old PSP and was having fun with it but hated the short battery life and the crappy Wi-Fi. I'm hoping it'll have a few more tweaks to it before it's official, as it looks a bit cheap and cartoony. The thing I loved about the old PSP was that it looked substantial and serious. If you sat down with one of those you were a serious gamer looking for some portable entertainment. This looks like all the little $5 arcade games you could buy at Kmart to keep kids occupied before going on a long car trip. i'm sure it looks for better than that, but so far can't find any images with the screen turned on.
Definitely mixed feelings. The DSi is looking tempting, but I'm not getting one until they have a way to port GBA cartridges. The PSP Go may be strictly download-only, (need to find definite specs) which leads me to be nervous about loss of games due to hardware malfunctions. At least with the current setup if the PSP dies you can pop the cartridge and the memory card in to a new one, you don't have the hassle of transfering everything (unless they've found a way to slim down game sizes and are about to release flash drives with high memory storage space.)
Ah well. We shall see. It was all I could do not to buy a lime green DSi when I saw one in downtown Tokyo. I'll probably end up wanting this one as well.

Also, oh yeah, I'm back. ^_^
