About Faeries

About Faeries...Well, it's hard to say as I don't tend to put a name on such things. I do not do "workings" with them, I just act respectfully when strange stuff happens. We all experience things through our own cultural and psychological lens. I would say if one considers faerie as nature spirits or related elementals, I have had more experiences with those than I have had with ghosts. I know there are nature spirits, and if you think faerie is another name for nature spirits, then yes, I know they exist. I never see little glittery beings in wings or anything. I always have experiences that could be perceived one of several ways. But at the same time, enough corroboration happens with what is experienced that I know "something" happened. What exactly, I am never sure, but I know it is not entirely in my head, but a problem of perception of "the Other" or "otherworld."

I have been "faerie-led" once, to the point where I saw various "somethings" on two legs near a mound of earth riddled with "burrows", had time/space discontinuities, and almost did not return. Long story that, and it occurred in Maryland while doing an archaeology dig. Once in Washington State, near Forks, my brother and I came through the woods to a place where a stone-lined "funnel" many yards across went down into the earth, and at the bottom was a small neat cottage, with movement of small people inside. Near the Arrow Rock in the Crow country of Montana, home of the Crow "Little People", I saw something man-shaped run on two legs near me and then suddenly it was a rabbit running on two legs like a man, and then it dropped to all fours and ran off like a regular rabbit. When my family was rafting on the Missouri River in Montana, I was being towed behind by rope, and my little sister became frantic because she saw a bunch of swimming blue people in the water following us and almost touching my legs as if to pull me under. What she saw corresponded to what the Blackfeet knew as the "Underwater People."

But I don't consider myself as having gifts, because if I did, I would probably have seen things much more clearly when they did happen. I believe you can respect such things, such beings, such elemental spirits, and be open and considerate to them, and it is also at times appropriate to leave "presents". But I don't believe in doing "workings" or faerie magic or such. I believe the proper way is to be a good and respectful human being, acknowledge they exist and have a right to exist, that they have a role and a right to be here, and don't interfere with them, and go on your way, and not intrude on their world. That's how I see it.
