Oh, I've got one! How about the time both of our hubbies were gone and we spent the evening together... I was drinking straight hot chocolate, but you had laced yours with something, lol. I still don't know what it was, but you got reallllllly silly. You were so cute, and so when you drunk dialed Jen and tried to pretend you were a guy with a Scots accent, I didn't stop you. You knew Jen was onto you, but you kept it up and your 'accent' changed, like, five times at least. You got to laughing so hard at the end that you spilled your drink on the carpet. We got the stain out... laughing like a couple of goofballs the whole time. Good times. ;)
Shhhhhh!!!! I *never* admitted to her that it was really me! Besides, after six rather rummy hot chocolates, I shouldn't be held responsible for anything I might say. God, my stomach muscles ached for days after all that laughing. That was a great night - think we can send hubbies away again soon? ;)
Ah, dear Hendercats....do you remember The Highland Games in Ligonier? The Laurel Highlands were so beautiful that autumn....brilliantly hued orange leaves against the clouldless sky...the sound of the pipes cutting through the crisp October air. So many beautiful, kilted Scottish men! Of course, the whisky tastings were great fun, weren't they? It was then I understood why you often travel to such events with a rather large roll of blue ribbon, and tidy little scissors tucked neatly in your purse...My stars, you are quite adept at tying such lovely bows! As I'm sure a number of festooned, bemused (hung-over?) and duly satisfied caber tossers would attest. Ahem. And then there was my haggis-bender....
I know you'll never believe this, but hearing the music of the pipes tumble over the hills just may be my favorite thing about those festivals. There's something marvelous about that first piper starting all alone - thrills me every time. The ribbon tying, though... Well, you know how much I enjoy that! You are the perfect partner for such wanton revels. Oh, it was such a glorious day! I treasure every moment.
You know, I think I need to make a new fob for my favorite scissors - something with a blue ribbon, perhaps? ;)
