I was going to send you all sexy 5D's e-cards yesterday, but....
...my Internet was down. Completely. No wireless. No DSL. No nothing.
It sucked so bad. Gawd was I bored.
I'll be honest. I love my mother, but she's not exactly the kind of person that you want to spend all day with. She has no concept of fun at all. For her, fun = watching hippie healing shows on PBS, or watching Spanish tv even though she has no idea what they are saying, or complaining about the neighbors and her co-workers and the world.
On more than one instance yesterday, I found myself wishing that I had a sibling or that my best friend wasn't spending Christmas with her family so that we could hang out. Boredom makes me selfish. Very, very, very selfish.
And it was cold. Fucking cold. So cold that when my mom opened the door for 5 seconds to let out the steam from her shower, my fingers went cold and numb. It was ridiculous.
Normally, we go out on Xmas Day and deliver gifts to our friends, but it was too cold to do that.
And we have no cable or satellite tv so we were stuck watching whatever crap was playing on network... most of it was re-runs.
So with no Internet and other sources of entertainment what did I do? I played a lengthy Search and Find game on my laptop and beat it. But, of course, PC games these days aren't made to end too well... the final level was ridiculously easy. And that left me unsatisfied and even more bored.
So all in all, it was a rather crappy Xmas for me. I hope that next year won't follow suit.
