Watchmen
A friend asked me my opinion of Watchmen. (R and I made it out to see it Friday night)
I was pretty conflicted between enjoying the film but not thinking it was good. Here is a short paragraph of what I said...
"The experience of seeing watchmen on the screen was very cool. Some of the scenes were just superb. I had no complaints at all about it doing the story/characters/etc justice. I think my only complaints are inherent in the act of making that story into a film. It is so focused on characters and setting that it really kills the pacing of the film. So much so that the average viewer who is not occupying their time admiring the justice that is being done to the comic .... will get bored when 3/5ths of the movie goes by without any major plot beat. All in all... the experience of seeing it on film is great, but it is not a great FILM."
