Meanwhile, back at the fountain... [open to maze dwellers]

Drip drying was not the most pleasant way to go, Nagi found, but at least it was warm enough in the maze that he didn't have to sit and shiver the whole time. He'd finished his bath shortly after Yohji had stalked off in a huff, and decided to wash his filthy clothes for good measure. While he wasn't particularly sanguine about wearing the flimsy hospital-type pajamas again, the whole concept of 'waste not, want not' still applied.

Mindful of Bombay's encounter with the clothes-eating function of the fountain, Nagi only left them in the water long enough to scrub them briskly between his hands, then wash out the soap. He wasn't completely happy with the results as he laid them out to dry, but it was the best he could do. And...Siberian had mentioned that there was clothing somewhere in that pile of supplies. That bore looking into.

A little bit of rummaging yielded a few packages of what seemed to be uniform-type overalls. Unfortunately, most of them appeared to be way too large--a few he suspected he'd have better luck using as a tent than as clothing. Finally he chose the smallest overall he could find--and a fairly sharp knife as well. "The world is what you make of it, Prodigy," he muttered to himself as he plopped back down by the fountain, booty in hand. "And if it doesn't fit, then it's time to make alterations." He made a mental note to ask Siberian later if needle and thread were included in any of the kits. Even without it, though, he managed to cut the overalls down to the point where they were wearable. They were baggy, of course, but now the excess material no longer flopped over his hands and feet. That he cut into thin strips and tucked away; there were a myriad of uses for such ties.

Clean and dressed--somewhat--he could finally turn his attention back to what he'd originally come out here for. Namely his computer. While he had no doubts that Bombay had managed to finish the program, he wanted to see *how* it had been done--and if there was anything he would have done differently. Remembering how Balinese had said that the 'essential' items were kept near the fountain, he headed for the little pile of gear. It didn't take him long to find the little pocket computer, and he settled down to look it over...

...only to stare, baffled, at the smiley little computer icon that currently sat in the middle of the screen.

"What the hell?"
