Summary: Sometimes, you just need a little reassurance.

Shiwon watched as his body curved and dipped to the soft music. He reached with his arms, only to draw them back to his body as if he was afraid to give it all to the sky. He spun, and spun, and spun, and spun - a being of perpetual motion with no end in sight. He went on forever, until Shiwon was sure he would be sick on the floor. Slowly, oh so slowly, he stopped, his chest heaving with his panted breaths, his eyes squeezed closed.

Then he crumbled.

Shiwon walked over and knelt beside him, taking him gently into his arms and cradling him against his chest. They sat still for a few silent minutes, only the sound of distant traffic disturbing the night. Shiwon brought his hand to the other boy’s face, and carefully wiped the salty tears from his cheeks.

“What’s wrong?” he asked silently, speaking the boy’s native Chinese. Sometimes, he knew, it was better to speak the language you were born with, than to try and find every thing you need to say in a foreign tongue.

Hangeng was quiet for a few minutes. Then in a shaky voice, “my grandmother-” he choked on his next words.

Shiwon held him tighter, carding his fingers through Hangeng’s soft hair. Hangeng took a deep, shuddering breath.

“Some days I wake up in the morning and I’m not sure who I am,” he began, his tear-filled voice flowing like a river over his native language. “Am I Hankyung, the singing dancing sensation of Super Junior who just can’t speak Korean well enough? Or am I Han Geng, a boy from China who likes to dance and cook but hates spiders?”

“Sometimes I feel like I’m alone in the centre of a mob, and I don’t know which way to turn before I’m suffocated by the pressure.” Hangeng’s voice died down until he was finally whispering the last. Tears spilled from his eyes once more, and he wiped at them in a frustrated gesture. Shiwon took his hand in his, brought it to his lips and placed a gentle kiss in the centre of his palm.

Shiwon lifted Hangeng’s chin until he was staring into Hangeng’s eyes - a brown so rich and deep they were almost black, and threatened to drown him in their sorrow. “Your name is Han Geng,” he says, quietly but firmly, “and you are the most beautiful dancer I know, because when you dance it’s not about the moves but the movement. And when you smile, my heart stops beating for a second. And when you sing I have to remember how to breathe sometimes. And you’re Hankyung. You’re still the same person - it just means you aren’t smiling especially for me anymore.”

Shiwon placed a gentle kiss - the barest brush of lips - first to Hangeng’s forehead, followed by each eye. Then he brought his mouth down to Hangeng’s and placed a soft, slow kiss to his lips.

“You’re never alone.” Shiwon said, his voice lower than before, a whisper just for Hangeng. “You have Super Junior. And when that’s not enough - you have me. Always.”

Hangeng tightened his grip on Shiwon’s t-shirt and turned his face into the crook of Shiwon’s neck. Shiwon rested his cheek against Hangeng’s hair and listened to the sound of his breathing which told him everything he needed to know.

I love you.

Shiwon leaned back against the sofa behind him and closed his eyes.

“How the hell do you expect me to sleep if you two are out here?” Shiwon opened his eyes to find Heechul standing in the doorway to the living room, a petulant look on his face.

“Rella?” Shiwon asked, confused. Heechul came towards them, grabbing the blanket that lay across the back of the sofa on his way. He stretched himself out carefully on the floor next to Hangeng, laying his head on his stomach.

“Hyung, I really don’t think you should be sleeping on the floor,” Hangeng said. Heechul snorted.

“You say this now, after I’ve gotten comfortable? I’m not going anywhere.”

“The bed’s all cold now anyway, since there’s no one in it.” Kibum added as he entered the room and lay next to Heechul. He helped Heechul unwrap the blanket and place it snugly around them.

“Heechul hyung?” Donghae called quietly, poking his head into the room as well. Heechul looked up, a tiny smile on his face. “I’m fine, Hae-ya,” he said, reassuring the younger boy who had become very protective of him since the accident. “Come join the party,” he invited.

Donghae entered the room, a sleepy Hyukjae and a blanket trailing behind him. He chose a spot on the other side of Heechul and Hyukjae wrapped himself around him, immediately falling back to sleep.

Sungmin walked in a few seconds later. “Is this a private party?” he asked Shiwon as he curled into his side.

“If it was we’d have had it in a bed,” Heechul muttered, his fingers tangled in a sleeping Kibum’s hair.

Donghee appeared next, on his way to raid the kitchen. “Did I miss something?” he asked as he passed by. After a quick midnight snack, he entered the living room and placed himself next to Sungmin.

“Why didn’t I receive an invitation to the orgy?” Jongwoon asked as K.R.Y entered.

“Because no one here wants to have sex with you,” Heechul stated matter of factly, his voice thick with sleep.

“Except for Kyuhun that is,” Sungmin added, causing a blush to rise in Kyuhun cheeks, and an assessing look in Jongwoon’s eyes.

“Interesting,” he said as the three boys found their own niche at Shiwon’s feet.

Hangeng smiled quietly and entwined his fingers with Shiwon, as he listened to the sounds of his family falling asleep around him.

‘They’re all going to wake up in the morning complaining of stiff necks,” Yongwoon said as he watched the boy-pile in the living room. Jungsu laughed softly as he tucked extra blankets around the sleeping boys.

“Do you want to join them?” he asked. Yongwoon slanted a look at him that was a clear negative.

“While they’re all out here on the floor, there are empty bedrooms to either side of ours,” he stated, taking Jungsu’s hand and pulling him out of the room, and down the corridor, “so we don’t have to worry about anyone hearing any… sounds we might make. Do you see where I’m going with this?” Jungsu laughed again, kissing Yongwoon lightly on his lips.

“I’m way ahead of you,” he whispered against Yongwoon’s lips, then took off down the corridor to the bedroom.

END.
