Update
Well, it turns out my motherboard is toast. They no longer make what I was using and most of my other hardware would not be compatable with a new one, so I'm having a new system built for me by Compuzone. The good news is that I don't have to switch to the evil Vista this way. They had a bit of trouble at first getting info out of my hard drive, which seems really strange because there was no indication of any problems with it even on the day the system failed, but they seem to have gotten the data transfer going as of yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately, they're not open today, so Monday is the earliest I can expect to see my new system. I had hoped to have it Friday, but as long as my files can be saved, they can take their time. Anyway, it should be ready Monday, so here's hoping I'll be back up to speed Tuesday or Wednesday.
