Merlin fanart: And None But We Can Be Such Kings
Because I'm a dork with a visual memory, I like to flip through my iTunes by Album cover. Because I'm a perfectionist who likes patterns to be complete, it ends up bugging me when I copy an old CD or cassette to my computer and iTunes can't find any artwork, or similarly if I download a podfic with no artwork...
And then I usually end up making my own, just so there's something to fill in the gap and jog the memory.
So this time, it was janne_d's funny and touching Merlin/Arthur story, And None But We Can Be Such Kings, in which Arthur is beset by diplomatic stresses and Merlin makes it his business to make Arthur's life a little easier. thisissirius made it into a lovely podfic, and it's such a cool story that I couldn't believe no-one had done any fanart or covers for it (apart from the Best Romance Award *g*).
And really, if you haven't read it, why not? Go read it (or listen to it) now!
But anyway, lots of searching later, and I was forced to conclude that either it didn't have any fanart, or I am a crap searcher... which y'know, could well be true!
So here's my cover for it (and if you look at the background of Merlin in The Hat, you can just see the wall hanging that I based this design around!):
