Offered: Old Phil Foglio Star Trek Con Comic

Feb 02, 2010 22:27

I'm going old-school fannish with my first two offerings. This is a copy of The New York and Chicago Strektaculars!. This is a comic drawn and primarily written by Phil Foglio (there are some song lyrics by Ann Passovoy) about the eponymous conventions. It was published in 1976 by Sharon Ferraro's boojums press.

This is early Foglio work, but it's still in his distinctive style, and it's fun, particularly if you have any interest in 1970s Star Trek conventions. The cover can be seen here. (In fact the whole thing has been posted on Yahoo Groups, with permission as I understand it, but wouldn't you rather have a paper copy?)

The comic is in decent shape - there are minor stains on the cover, but it doesn't have much wear, and the interior is clean. A large chunk of the pages are upside down, but it would be simple enough (for someone other than me) to open the staples and fix them.

Inside the comic is a note from Sharon Ferraro about the then-upcoming SekWesterCon Too.

Price includes shipping in the US and Canada. I will ship anywhere else, but might require additional money to cover the cost - ask if you need to know how much (for this particular item it might well be nothing).

Minimum Bid: $20

ETA: The cover link has been replaced with one that works, and the scan is actually of the copy being auctioned. As you can see, the stains on the cover (near the bottom) are pretty minor.
